I meant to do the Questionaire sooner but have been too busy. My son is home sick with strep so I can finally get around to this.
How long have you been on DeviantArt?
It's been five years under this name and there were many years under Evilbarny but I wasn't very active then.

What does your username mean?
It means business.

Describe yourself in three words.
Blessed and cursed.

Are you left or right handed?
I'm right handed. My left hand mostly functions with the dexterity of a claw machine.

What was your first deviation?
It was an acrylic painting of two mobsters standing in front of a brick wall  with their shadows cast on the wall by car headlights coming from the camera's POV. I remember one of the guys was wearing a brown leather jacket because it was one of my earliest uses of real reference.

What is your favorite type of art to create?
Damn that is a tough question. Sometimes I like to create monsters, sometimes I like to create beautifully somber pieces and other times pieces about light. It would be easier to name stuff I don't like to make than stuff I do. I don't really care for mechanical stuff.

If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
Loose painterly style.

What was your first favorite?
Again that would have been under Evilbarny so it's hard to know. I remember a piece blowing me away back during the Evilbarny days and it was Frankenstein working on his monster and there were little jars around. If somebody can find it post in the comments.

What type of art do you tend to favorite the most?
i think my faves are completely random. I save TONS of pictures from DA onto my hard drive and have them categorized by what I like about them so there's folders for, rendering flesh, rendering metal, composition, particle effects, lighting, paint application, etc.

Who is your all-time favorite deviant artist?
Another damn tough question. I'll name someone that I am ONLY familiar with because of DA Noahkh.

If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person who would it be?
I'm going with b-nine (Brandon Leach) because we have talked so much and worked together but have never actually met face-to-face.

How has a fellow deviant impacted in your life?
It may be shocking to hear that an artist doesn't always have the most self-esteem so the biggest impact comes from those deviants that have recommended my work for daily deviations(successfully or not) and those who support me on Patreon. There's just sooooo many great artists out there and the fact that anybody thinks any of my work is worthy of attention or monetary support well I can't tell you how good it makes me feel. If I were the crying sort it would bring a tear to my right eye. My left eye is the crying sort so it would shed a tear but I would blame the dog attack damage.

What are your preferred tools to create art?
Photoshop and Cintiq.

What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
Conventions, workshops and where I've moved to a new apartment or house.

What is your favorite Deviant Art memory?
hmm. I still get a chuckle out of thinking of the niche fetishes I have found on here. Bodies inflated like balloons? Check. Dragons fucking cars? Check. Anthropomorphic sexy airplanes? Check. I think of it as niche but then that stuff will have more faves and I laugh to myself wondering if Instead of being the worst fantasy artist I should be the best "dragons fucking cars" artist.

Interior illustration for Monte Cook Games. This was for a show-em brief which means that it is meant to be a point of view shot of the players in the game. They can be a little tricky as sometime they can be a little mundane or lack a focal point. So while this may not have anything grandiose or action-packed in it, hopefully it builds a mood for a game session. MCG currently has a kickstarter going that you can check out here www.kickstarter.com/projects/m…

Also feel free to check out my Patreon. NEW REWARDS. You can now get critiques on your own artwork for every piece I finish. I will also be creating a gif of the process for each image from now on for those who do not make it to the google hangouts they have paid for. patreon.com/JoeSlucherArt

I often have people ask me for critiques and paint-overs but I imagine some people are too shy or feel guilty asking for help. So I've added a reward level on my Patreon so that for $12 you can receive a critique for every Patreon funded piece I post. You also receive a raffle entry to win each supported print and a raffle entry to win the book of supported pieces at the end of the year. Thumbnail voting for the next piece is going down this week so it's a good time to join if you want to have your voice heard! patreon.com/JoeSlucherArt

Thanks to all of my supporters and feel free to ask questions about Patreon or make requests/suggestions regarding the Patreon campaign.

Interior illustration for Monte Cook Games.Probably one of the strangest briefs I've had and I may have divided my attention too evenly between the elements. Brief called for a black hole, cracks in reality forming a structure of nets around the black hole, and alien space spiders bigger than planets. Duped! by JoeSlucher
Duped!
Interior illustration for Monte Cook Games. I really enjoyed working on this one. It was nice to get to do a female character that wasn't super skinny or white. Not to mention I got to draw two rotund guys as well. MCG currently has a kickstarter going that you can check out here www.kickstarter.com/projects/m…
